After creating a table in Word, adding a table border in Word makes the table easier to see and attracts viewers' attention. There are many different types of table borders for us to choose from for our tables, similar to cover page borders in Word or borders around Word documents. Below are ways to create table borders in Word.
Instructions for creating Word table borders with a brush
Step 1:
After creating the table in Word, we click Design tab above to display table formatting options. Next you can choose table border size in Wordwith many different board sizes as shown below.
If you choose a size for the table border, it will apply Brush to create simple Word table borders. You press Border Painter to draw Word table borders.
Step 2:
If you want to create Simple table border style you click straight line chart then select New style for Word table borders.
Step 3:
Then you also use the brush to draw the table border in Word. We will draw each border around the table to create a border as shown below.
Step 4:
Also when clicked Border Styles section You'll see there are several table border styles for you to choose from.
Then you also use a pen to create a table border in Word.
Step 5:
To change the color of your brush Click Pen Color Then choose the color you want to use.
How to create Word table borders using Table Styles
Step 1:
Also in the Design tab, click arrow icon Already select Modify Table Style...
Step 2:
This time displays the interface for you Customize the table border again. We choose the table border type, color and size to use. Each option is displayed below for you to review. Click OK to apply that table border style in Word.
Step 3:
After you create a new table border style, it will appear in the Table Styles list so you can use it for subsequent table border creations in Word.
Create Word table borders using the right-click menu
Step 1:
We also draw a table on Word by clicking Insert. Then highlight the entire table and right-click. In this list there will be options Border Styles.
Step 2:
Then, simple table border styles will be displayed.
After choosing the border type, we will draw on the board yourself. You just need to move the mouse along the horizontal or vertical lines of the table to draw the border.
Immediately the table border will change to the style shown below.
In case you want change to another color then click Pen Color Then choose the color for the table border.
Step 3:
To display the table border editing interface like in Word 2007, click on it Borders Then look down the list and you'll see the options Borders and Shading…
Then you also proceed to select the border for the table as in Word 2007.
How to draw table borders in Word 2007 and below
Step 1:
We create tables in Word as usual, then enter the data into the table.
Step 2:
After creating the table, we highlight the entire table and then right-click on the table and select next Borders and Shading in the displayed list.
Step 3:
Displays the interface for users to choose the border style for the table. Here users have many ways to choose borders for the table.
If you want replace borders for all lines in a table, including lines between cells and borders around the table In the Settings section, click All.
Next choose line style want to use at Stylewith dashed lines, double lines, triple lines… Select color for the line at Color. We can preview how the table border displays in the Preview section. Click OK to apply the new border style.
As a result, we will have a Word table with a border style as shown below.
In case you just want to style a border around the tablebut the lines in the cells remain the same, then we choose Grid item. Continue choosing the style and color for the border. Click OK to apply.
As a result, you will get a table with a border as shown below.
