Stamping logos and adding watermarks to office documents is very familiar to users. When stamping a document, readers will easily identify which website the document comes from, especially the ability to edit content will be greatly limited.
In the office tool Word, there is a built-in feature to insert watermarks and delete newly created watermarks in the text page, helping you easily create logo marks for documents. In the article below, Network Administrator will help you understand how to insert watermark in Word content.
Method 1: Create Word watermark as an image
Step 1:
In the Word 2010, 2007 and earlier interface, click at the location in the text where you want to insert the watermark. Then click next Page Layout tab then click on the item Watermark.
In Word 2013, 2016, and 2019 you click Design > Watermark (option near the bottom right hand side).
Step 2:
Here you will see preview images of several watermark insertion styles in Word so you can choose for your document. Click select Custom watermark.
Step 3:
The Printed Watermark dialog box appears. Here users will have 2 ways to insert watermark into content.
If you want to insert a watermark using an existing image, select it Picture watermarkthen press select Select Picture to open the watermark image stored on your computer.
Step 4:
Next comes the section Scaleselect the size for the selected watermark. Finally press Apply to preview how the watermark is inserted into the Word page.
Note to userswhen unchecking the Washout box, the watermark will be darker as shown below. If you are satisfied with this way of inserting a watermark, click OK to save.
Finally, the Word content will be watermarked as an image as shown below.
Method 2: Insert Word watermark using Text
Step 1:
We also follow the above steps to open the Watermark section in Word. If inserting watermark by entering text, click select Text watermark. Then customize the watermark according to the following items:
- Language: select language for watermark.
- Text: enter content for watermark.
- Font: select the font for the watermark
- Size: choose size for watermark.
- Color: choose color for watermark.
- Layout: choose watermark direction (Diagonal is diagonal style, Horizontal is horizontal style).
- Semitransparent: create a semi-transparent style for the watermark.
Step 2:
Once setup is complete press Apply to preview how the watermark will appear in Word content. Finally, the user clicks OK to save this new text watermark.
Step 3:
The final result, we will get the watermark as text as shown below.
In case of use Word 2003users access Format > Background > Printed Watermark…. Then enter the watermark for the document.
With Word 2013 versionwe will click on Design tab and then also click on the item Watermark. The user performs the remaining operations similarly according to the instructions above.
3. How to remove watermark created on Word:
Word 2013 or later, you enter Design > Watermark > Remove watermark to remove inserted watermarks in Word.
Word 2010 and below, to delete the newly created watermark, click Page Layout select Watermark then select next Remove watermark.
