Recently, Dell provides users with solutions to update from TPM 1.2 to TPM 2.0 for its eligible laptops and computers. This change will help Dell laptops and computers meet the requirements of TPM 2.0 when installing and updating Microsoft's Windows 11.

How to update TPM 1.2 to 2.0
1. Visit Dell's product support page.
2. Service Tag of the device or select the device you are using in the product list of Dell
3. Click on the card Drivers & downloads, press Find Drivers
4. Select Security In the catalog menu
5. Find the download file for the Firmware update Dell TPM 2.0. In case there are many TPM 2.0 files, you should choose the file with the nearest update date.
6. If you find you can download
7. After downloading, you double -click to open and run the file
8. The device will automatically update to TPM 2.0 after restarting
Fix the error “The TPM is Owned. Please clear the TPM and TRY AGAIN”
Whenever Windows 10 system with TPM has been restarted, Windows 10 will automatically take control of TPM. The update process to TPM 2.0 or lowering to TPM 1.2 all requires the release of the new TPM control to be successful.
If you do not release the TPM, you will receive an error message “The TPM is Owned. Please clear the TPM and Try Again” when running the file updated and lowered.
How to release TPM control
1. PowerShell under Administrator By pressing the button Start Then enter PowerShell Then right click to choose Run as administrator.
2. PowerShell, You enter the command Disable-tpmautoprovisioning then press Enter.
3. If the feature Dell Data Protection (DDP) Installed, you need to take the following steps:
- Press the button Start Then enter Services.msc Already Enter to open Services Desktop App.
- Service Set Windows dellmgmtagent to mode Disabled.
- Stop (stop) Service Windows dellmgmtagent.
- Service Set Windows dellmgmtloader to mode Disabled.
- Stop (stop) Service Windows dellmgmtloader.
- Conducting the release of TPM control.
4. Click Start Then enter TPM.MSC Already Enter To open the TPM management window.
5. Select Clear TPM In the right outer frame.
6. The system will restart itself to complete the change.
7. Do not access the BIOS, let the computer access to Windows by yourself.
